Kristen L. Hodnett, MSEd, is a clinical professor in the department of special education at Hunter College. She began her career in New York City as a teaching fellow, and earned her master’s degree in special education from Hunter with a specialization in learning disabilities.
In addition to being a literacy coach, Hodnett has been a teacher in special education and general education settings. She has worked in elementary and secondary schools in New York City and suburban districts in New Jersey.
At Hunter, Hodnett teaches courses in the following areas: the study of learning disabilities, inclusive education, methods of reading, classroom management, and supervised clinical teaching. She is also the faculty point person for Hunter’s alternative certification programs, Teaching Fellows and Teach for America.
